Here’s What’s Happening with Classes!

Most of you already know that Mana Beads has sadly closed her doors, as of June 30th. After 14 years in Nevada City, it feels like the end of an era. For the last several years, I had the good fortune to teach an array of jewelry-making classes in the Mana Beads studio. We played with beads, wire, metals, stones, and chemicals. We played with color, composition, texture, light, inspiration, and our imaginations!

So now what?

I certainly am not done teaching and learning with all of you! But it will probably be a few months until I’m up and running in a new space in Nevada County. I have a few things in the works but they are not ready for announcement yet. If you haven’t already done so, you can sign up for my newsletter and get regular notifications about classes, tips & techniques, jewelry shows and gem & mineral shows.

For the summer, I am continuing to teach as a guest instructor at The Studio 26 in Cameron Park, CA. It is a wonderful jewelry-making studio that focuses on metal-working, soldering, casting, etc. You can read more about them in my recent spotlight article here. I am thrilled to be able to offer some new projects there that expand my class portfolio and take things in new directions.

For those of you that don’t do metal-work, no worries! When I am back on track in Nevada County this fall, I will have a thorough selection of bead-weaving & wire-working projects to choose from.

Change is always a little unsettling, but it also offers a chance to re-examine and re-invent the normal. I can’t wait to share some new ideas and opportunities for creativity once the dust on this change settles. I’m looking forward to seeing you soon!
