Description
If you heat metal just enough, you can create wonderful textures without melting it to bits! This is called “reticulation” and you never really know just what patterns you’re going to get. In this pendant the metal ended up resembling fabric, with gentle wrinkles and folds that only nature can create.
The reticulated silver is the top layer of a two-part riveted pendant. The faceted blue topaz and amethyst stones are set on the bottom layer, but peek out through the reticulation. There is a small gap between the two sheets of metal, creating a shadowbox effect.
This unusual necklace is subtle but truly unique, contemporary but far from boring!
It measures approximately 1-1/2″ tall x 1″ wide x 1/8″ deep. The length, including the attached sterling silver chain is about 17″ long. The faceted amethyst is about 4mm diameter. The faceted blue topaz is about 6m diameter.
