Since 1986, Pamela Klein has been creating, learning and teaching jewelry. She has spent eighteen years in the retail sector as co-owner of bead and jewelry shops in both Kona, Hawaii and Nevada City, California. She is currently dedicated to her home studio in Grass Valley, CA, where she can create beautiful jewelry with sterling silver, copper, and one-of-a-kind gemstones. She also teaches in the local community, offering classes in metalworking, wireworking and beading.
Jewelry Making Instruction
The philosophy behind classes is to have fun, to learn the fundamentals, and to really understand what the techniques are all about. And you get to make a beautiful piece of jewelry, too! Most classes are “project-driven” – students create a specific project as a vehicle for learning a new skill. Custom classes, private classes and tutorials are also a great way to add to your jewelry-making knowledge. See our Instruction page for more details.
Most pieces are one of a kind and many are custom designed. You can find a nice collage of images showing Pam’s work at the Gallery page but the entire collection goes beyond what’s posted here. You can find several items for purchase at her Etsy page or you can shop in person at Mana Beads in Nevada City, CA. When she is scheduled to participate in a regional show, you’ll find that information in the Blog or on the Shop pages. Of course, feel free to contact her for custom work inquiries.
Pam’s blog is a combination of her musings on life and her willingness to share what she has learned. In the “Journal” section, she posts essays relating to her though processes as an artist, the struggles and joys of every day life, locations for upcoming shows, and whatever else comes to mind worth sharing. In the “Classes” section you’ll find class schedules and locations, instructional videos and articles that may help you with your own jewelry-making pursuits.
